The Companion Series

About us

We’re an independent publisher of plain-English education for pet owners — built on a simple observation: millions of dogs cross into their senior years every year, their owners get fifteen-minute vet visits and an internet split between doom and dangerous dosing advice, and nobody hands them a map.

What we make

Structured, self-paced educational guides — starting with The Senior Dog Companion, a plain-English guide to a dog’s golden years organized by the question owners actually ask: is this normal, or is this a vet visit? Every guide ships with working tools — a weekly tracker built to catch slow trends, a vet-visit playbook, a room-by-room home checklist — because understanding is half the job; the other half is walking into the exam room with organized observations.

How we work

Everything we publish is grounded in sources your veterinarian would recognize: AAHA’s senior-care guidelines, AVMA resources, WSAVA nutrition guidance, veterinary-school materials from institutions like Cornell and Tufts, and the Villalobos quality-of-life scale, attributed. Where evidence is mixed — the joint supplement aisle, for instance — you’ll read the word “mixed.” That honesty is the product.

What we are not

We are educators, not veterinarians — and emphatically not a supplement company. Our materials never diagnose, never promise outcomes, never provide medication doses, and never recommend giving a dog any human medication. There is nothing in the back of our store. Every page points toward a real veterinarian’s exam room, with you walking in prepared.
